Despite the COVID-19 pandemic that sent the whole world on lockdown, the Nigerian movie industry managed to keep us glued to our screens with their lovely blockbuster films.
From Mercy Johnson’s “The Legend of Inikpi”, to Toyin Abraham’s Fate of Alakada, these movies went viral and made impacts.

The movie was produced by Nollywood’s A-list actress cum producer, Mercy Johnson. After it’s release on the cinemas, it broke the record of highest grossing Epic movie in Nigerian cinema.
The movie was directed by Kayode Kasum. Although The movie was released on the 25th of December, 2019 it made waves in 2020.
After renowned director Kunle Afolayan announced it’s release, fans went wild. The movie was released on popular streaming site Netflix on the 6th of November, 2020.
Living in Bondage – Breaking Free:
A sequel to Nollywood’s all evergreen movie, Living in Bondage. It was produced by Charles Okpaleke of Play Networks and directed by Ramsey Nuoah.
Oloture:
A movie about human trafficking. It features Omoni Oboli, Sharon Ooja, Ada Ameh and others. Many Nigerians loved the movie for the fact that it was eye-opening and reflected the reality of most Nigerian women and journalists.
Fate of Alakada:
Creative Director, Toyin Abraham has never disappointed her fans with any of her Alakada series. She made her fans enjoy every bit of the splendid movie. The star-studded movie had fans reeling with laughter as expected.
