Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has won his seventh Ballon d’Or after a year in which he won the Copa del Rey with Barcelona and the Copa America with Argentina.

After winning European football’s top competition, and the Women’s Premier League, Chelsea are given the first ever Club of the Year award by France Football.

The Chelsea and Italy midfielder won the Champions League at club level and Euro 2020 with his national team.

And the winner for best goalkeeper goes to Italy’s Euro 2020 winner Donnarumma. A brilliant end to a fantastic year for the PSG man.

And the second award of the night goes to Lewandowski who wins the inaugural Striker of the Year award.
“I’m very proud of this trophy, I know what it means to be ready to score the goal,” the Pole said. “Everything I do I have to thank my team-mates, coach and staff. Without them it’s difficult to be at the front.”
